30 weeks

dear world,

i am the farthest along in a pregnancy that i’ve ever been before. V was born at 29 weeks and 6 days. yesterday, i hit 30 weeks.

it feels kind of like a really big deal. like i was waiting for 29 and 6 to be the limit on how long i could carry a baby even though i know full well that i feel better this time and the doctor said there are no signs of preterm labor. i’m a little proud of myself for not falling to pieces- literally and figuratively.

this weekend, we finally put the nursery together most of the way. we took V to my mother’s house for the day saturday and broke the office down, put the futon in the basement (with the help of a friend) and built this new baby some furniture. MHM put the dresser together and i put the nightstand together all by myself. for those of you who are unaware, putting things together is not my forte. i only put one piece on backwards and managed to fix it before the damage was permanent. it doesn’t even wobble! the crib is put back together and we’re just about ready in case this baby decides to make an early entrance.

i felt like if we didn’t get the room at least mostly ready for the new baby then she would arrive with no where to sleep. we’ve even made progress in the great name debate. now that we’re ready for her, i’m sure she’ll wait two more months like she ought to to meet us.

feeling more prepared,
