secret to getting V to eat: chopsticks

hello world,

Eileen Yin-Fei Los Mastering the Art of Chinese CookingMHM asked for and received a killer wok for christmas this year. he has seasoned it well, re-seasoned it for good measure and cooked us some fabulous meals. (the first foray into wok cooking involved scrambled eggs for breakfast. did i mention he really loves that wok?) he has also been diligently studying mastering the art of chinese cooking by eileen yin-fei lo and much to my delight has learned how to cook excellent chinese cuisine.

for our meatless meal this week, we had an old stand-by: tofu stir fry. this week we had firm tofu instead of extra firm and broccoli, carrots and green onions as our vegetables. the sauce MHM created was the best yet as a direct result of the new practice in chinese cooking.

usually, V likes tofu stir fry, but tuesday night she only wanted to eat her orange slices. i casually picked up a piece of tofu from her tray and fed it to her with my chopsticks. she thought that was possibly the coolest thing ever. “more, more!” she demanded. after she said please, i kept feeding her. she ate every bite of broccoli, every bite of carrot and the rest of MHM’s rice, too. apparently, the secret to getting V to eat is by feeding her with a different sort of implement than usual.

happily eating,

cm
