jamie oliver to revamp school lunches in huntington, wv

hello all,

jamie oliver, the world famous chef known for simple cooking and campaigning to change the food school children are eating in the uk, will be filming a 6 part series in huntington, wv this fall according to schoolfoodpolicy.com.

here’s hoping he starts a trend in the mid-west. my daughter won’t begin school for another couple years, but i’m hopeful that when she begins to attend i won’t have to worry about the hormones in her milk or the drugs in the meat served. maybe she’ll even be able to help grow the garden vegetables. there are several schools across the country that maintain gardens where students are partly responsible for their success or failure. alice waters (of chez panisse) pioneered edible schoolyard in california, among others.
